Alden Richards is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the industry right now. Ever since the AlDub invasion back in 2015, the rise of Alden and Maine Mendoza couldn’t be stopped. Projects started coming for the two celebrities, numerous endorsements, television series, and movies, and even sold out concerts as well as merchandise! They certainly look like they’re living the dream and of course, Alden and Maine have been very grateful for the blessings that continue to come their way.
But sometimes this kind of fame comes with a price. As a celebrity, they will always capture the attention of people, and some of these netizens aren’t always kind. Online bashing and critics aren’t a new thing in the industry but they can certainly get vicious. Some bashers criticize these personalities way too harshly and unnecessarily.
Alden, because of his huge success, has been a favorite target. Just recently, in his interview with PEP, Alden admitted that he was still single and some of the fans, even those who supported his team up with Maine, didn’t like that one bit. When asked about what he thought of the presence of haters in his life, Alden had this to say:
“They’re still there, always around, lurking around our social media accounts and personal lives. But I’ve learned to accept the fact that they will exist no matter what we do. In their eyes, we’re always wrong no matter how good we do. The wrong ones are still what count when it comes to those bashers. Ako, pinagpapasa-Diyos ko na lang talaga sila, kasi wala naman talaga akong magagawa if that’s the way they’re brought up by their parents. I can’t do anything about it but just to pray for them. You know, sana ma-enlighten sila to be busy with their own personal lives.”
Alden just tries to stay away from the negativity because he knows that it won’t do him any good. The actor said that he avoids reading the online messages that contain hate. This makes arguments less likely to happen.
“I don’t read kasi doon nag-i-start, e. Di ba, minsan may mga kapwa tayo artista na hindi napipigilan, sumasagot sila sa mga tweets? Ako, as much as possible, I really don’t read para hindi na ako umabot sa ganun. At saka mas masaya ako nang ganun.”
